This picture taken just prior to the removal of; tar, paint, felt tip pen, grim and organic growth by Robin Riley (Sculptor).

Whilst the pictures were being taken a local resident came up and said he could remember drinking from this fountain in the 1940's when he was a lad, "It had a metal cup secured by a small metal chain on the right hand side" he said.
