·       Architect: Professor Lionel Bailey Budden

·       Unveiled: Tuesday 11th November 1930 by Edward George Villiers Stanley, 17 Earl of Derby

·       Material:  Stancliffe stone, reliefs in bronze

·       Bronze founders: Morris-Singer & Co.

·       Relief panels show contrasting aspects of the Great War

·       Bible quotations above and below one panel

·       Mrs Tyson Smith is shown on the left of the panel, standing behind the kneeling mourner

·       The boy standing on the right is the Smith’s son

·       Tyson Smith is also shown on the panel

·       Note the Twenties style of dress worn by the mourners
